About LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana (Click to Expand)

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana 2025, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a significant initiative by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) aimed at empowering women, especially in rural areas.

This scheme offers women the opportunity to become insurance agents and provides a stipend for three years to support them financially as they establish themselves. It is part of LIC's MCA (Member of Corporate Agency) scheme, specifically designed for women.

Key Objectives:

  • To train women in the insurance sector.
  • To provide an independent source of income for women.
  • To spread insurance awareness in rural regions.
  • To help women build a strong, self-reliant identity.

It's not a traditional job but an independent working model offering training, commission on policy sales, and a fixed stipend for three years, contingent on performance.

Stipend Structure and Performance Conditions:

The monthly stipend is performance-based over three years:

  • Year 1: ₹7,000 per month.
    • Performance Expectation: Earn at least ₹48,000 in commission and sell a minimum of 24 new policies. (These targets for Year 1 impact Year 2 stipend).
  • Year 2: ₹6,000 per month, IF Year 1 targets were met AND at least 65% of Year 1 policies remain active.
  • Year 3: ₹5,000 per month, IF eligible for Year 2 stipend AND at least 65% of Year 2 policies remain active.

This structure makes the scheme sustainable and skill-based, encouraging Bima Sakhis to improve their economic status and inspire others.
